Mihoyo confirmed that once again, Windtrace is about to return to Genshin Impact. The event involves essentially playing hide and seek in designated areas in Teyvat. This time, there will be more maps. Everything will kick off in-game on January 13, 2022.
As with the first run, people need to be at Adventure Rank 20 to participate. One person will be a Hunter. This randomly assigned role needs to find the other players, who are Rebels, before time runs out. They will have certain special Windward Arts to equip to help expose people. The Rebels, meanwhile, will have the ability to temporarily transform into inanimate objects in the vicinity. Their goal is to not get caught.
Playing earns you Windtrace Coins in Genshin Impact. These can then be exchanged for reward items. The tweet teasing the event confirmed Primogems, character experience items like Hero’s Wit books, Mora, and Talent Level-Up Materials will all be doled out. The original run of the event also featured challenges. If you managed to do things like hide for an entire match without shapeshifting, for example, you’d earn extra rewards.
Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The Genshin Impact Windtrace rerun will run January 13-27, 2022.
