Genshin Impact Version 4.0 will not only advance the story and introduce some new playable characters, but there will also be events for you to get to know Fontaine better. Lynette will also be a free character for those who are over Adventurer Rank 25. When you get her from the events page, you’ll also get enough Ascension Materials to immediately raise her over Ascension 1.

The first event is Mega Meka Melee, which will give players a free Bennett after meeting the Invitation Criteria. He will have a role to play in the story since he is the inspiration of the Fontainian toys. You have to help a workshop collect enough materials that they can make toys based on Champion Duelists. Mini-games during this event include an underwater parkour challenge, a combat challenge, and a rhythm game.

The next 4.0 Genshin Impact event is Relic Records: Creations of the Hydro Nation. Awards for this one include new Ascension Books, Primogems, and the like. It focuses on defeating specific enemies or finding Fontaine local specialties. It’s to familiarize players with what you can fight and obtain in the new region.

There will also be a photography event, Studies in Light and Shadow: A Fontaine of Enchantment. You’ll have to take pictures based on instructions. Pictures will focus on scenery and wildlife.

Finally, there will be a combat challenge, Verdict of Blades. There will be a Blade Mirage to make combat easier on higher difficulties. Higher difficulties will give you better rewards. There will be a Ley Line Overflow event so that you will have an easier time raising new characters.

Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Version 4.0 of the game will debut on August 16, 2023.
