The upcoming character in Genshin Impact, Hu Tao, will be voiced in Japanese by Rie Takahashi. Takahashi also plays Mash Kyrielight in Fate/Grand Order, Fjorm in Fire Emblem Heroes, Emilia in Re;Zero, and Megumin in KonoSuba. Fans of these games will recognize her voice immediately, as Takahashi lends a mischievous charm to Hu Tao’s Japanese voice. In English, Brianna Knickerbocker will play the character. Fans should be familiar with Knickerbocker as the voices of Charlotte, Est, Ninian, and Sakura in the Fire Emblem series; Dana in Ys VIII and Ys IX; Tita in The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel; Rem in Re;Zero; and Ling Shenhua in Shenmue 3. Knickerbocker gives Hu Tao a slightly cuter tone than in Japanese. Check out Genshin Impact‘s website to compare and contrast lines between the two voice actors, who do an excellent job bringing this funeral director to life.
