We now know exactly who will be on the Genshin Impact Ganyu Banner when it launches on January 12, 2021. miHoYo revealed she’ll be accompanied by two other characters from Liyue, Xiangling and Xingqui. But that’s not the only addition on the way, as a Ganyu Story Quest will also appear that day.

First, the Ganyu banner is called Adrift in the Harbor. Ganyu, the five-star Cryo archer, will have three four-star focus units appearing alongside her. There’s the Geo claymore-user Noelle, the Pyro spear-wielder Xiangling, and the Hydro sword-bearer Xingqui. All three of the other characters have been available in the game since launch, with Noelle being the guaranteed four-star on the Beginner’s Wish banner and Xiangling is another character people might have earned for free, as she’s a Spiral Abyss reward for completing the third floor of Chamber 3.

As for the Ganyu Story Quest, that will proceed as normal too. You’ll need to have spent quite a bit of time with the game to learn more about her. You need to have completely finished the game’s Archon Quests’ first chapter, which ends with A New Star Approaches. This also means being at Adventure Rank 40 and having an extra Story Key necessary to unlock Sinae Unicornis Chapter. Getting the key is easy enough. If you’re keeping up with the four-per-day Daily Commission quests, then you should have the eight necessary to earn a key for it.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PC, and mobile devices, and a Nintendo Switch version is also in development. The Ganyu banner will appear after the Albedo banner ends on January 12, 2021.
