Kadokawa and Netflix Japan announced Gamera: Rebirth, a new project based on the kaiju. The announcement also mentioned it will appear worldwide. It didn’t offer details on what kind of project it will be. However, Anime News Network pointed out the KADOKAWAanime YouTube account is where the official teaser is located, suggesting it could be an anime adaptation. Kadokawa also noted on Twitter that a Gamera figure will be on display Tamashii Nation 2022. [Thanks, Anime News Network!]
Here’s the full poster for the project, which Kadokawa shared on Twitter.
This is the initial teaser. It allows us to see a shadowy peek at the giant turtle. The character’s cry and eye can also be seen.
As for the Gamera figure, the teaser for it is obscured as well. What is visible is designed to look like a newspaper report. Tamashii Nations takes place November 18-20, 2022. An official website is available, with English, Japanese, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese language options. So it might be possible to see it online there once the event begins.

Gamera first appeared back in 1965. The debut movie was Gamera, the Giant Monster. Eight Showa era and four Heiwa and Reiwa era ones appeared overall. There were also two video games starring the character, but they only appeared in Japan.
Gamera: Rebirth is in development and will appear on Netflix worldwide.
