Here are some highlights from the interview with Toshihiro Kondo:

  • “EX [scenarios] are planned to be published later on October 1, 2020. There’s also additional information that will be opened at the same time, so look forward to it.”
  • “As we have provided a lot of useful features such as Variant Age, if they are not used then [this game] may feel more difficult than the prequel.”
  • “We’re planning to release DLC for 4 weeks in a row from release.”
  • “[The major update slated for release on October 1, 2020] will raise the level cap and be also filled with information leading to the next title.”
  • True Reverie Corridor floors, Episodes, and playable characters will be added.”
  • Beach de Vacances will be compatible with PlayStation VR.”
  • “We will release the Special Support Section’s Summer Holiday episode, and you will be able to enjoy communication events. Look forward to Lloyd’s new activities (laughs)”

At the same time, Toshihiro Kondo also teased how the next Kiseki game will look like: [Thanks again, Ryokutya2089.]

  • “The next title will not be Hajimari 2. Hajimari ends properly with this game. Please rest assured (laughs)”
  • “A location that has never been depicted before will appear.”
  • “Information about new locations, organizations, and people will show up unexpectedly in Hajimari no Kiseki. I recommend progressing through the main story, True Reverie Corridor, and EX scenarios.”
  • “AT Battle will be gone. Hajimari no Kiseki is the last game to have it.”
  • “AT Bar will be gone. It will become a Command Battle with Action features and a lot of real-time elements added.”
  • “The battle type is never seen anywhere else.”
  • “The appearing characters will mostly change. Important characters so far may show up, but the characters that move the story will be all-new. The hint is spread everywhere in Hajimari no Kiseki.”

The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki launches this week in Japan for PlayStation 4 on August 27, 2020. Earlier this month, Toshihiro Kondo also talked about the new engine currently being developed by Nihon Falcom.
