Warner Bros. Japan uploaded a trailer for the second live-action movie, Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter – Scar the Avenger. Romi Park, who plays Edward Elric in the anime adaptation, narrates. The film was previously teased by a website opened to commemorate the series’s 20th anniversary.

Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter – Scar the Avenger follows the Elric brothers’ conflict with Scar, a mysterious killer targeting State Alchemists. The film also ties in to deeper conflicts in the setting’s past, revealing the state’s use of alchemists as “human weapons.” It sets the stage for the “final battle.” That battle takes place in the following film, The Last Transmutation.

The cast from the original 2017 Fullmetal Alchemist live-action movie returns to reprise their roles for the sequels. Ryosuke Yamada plays Ed, while Atomu Mizuishi provides the voice and motion-capture work for Al. Tsubasa Honda plays Winry Rockbell, while Dean Fujioka and Misako Renbutsu play Roy Mustang and Riza Hawkeye. Ryuta Sato, Kanata Hongo, and Shinji Uchiyama play Maes Hughes, Envy, and Gluttony respectively.

New members also join the Fullmetal Alchemist: The Final Chapter cast:

  • Scar – Mackenyu Arata
  • King Bradley – Hiroshi Tachi
  • Alex Louis Armstrong – Koji Yamamoto
  • Olivier Mira Armstrong – Chiaki Kuriyama
  • Ling Yao – Keisuke Watanabe

  • May Chang – Long Meng Rou
  • Izumi Curtis – Haruhi Ryoga
  • Van Hohenheim – Seiyo Uchino
