New Fruits Basket Anime Announced for 2022, Will Star Tohru’s Parents

A new Fruits Basket anime will appear in 2022 alongside a stage play based off of the original manga. The new Fruits Basket anime will star Tohru’s parents and is titled Kyо̄ko to Katsuya no Monogatari. However, exact details about the anime have yet to be revealed. This information was revealed through the official Fruits Basket website, which uploaded a post stating that this new anime would arrive sometime in 2022. This also included information regarding an upcoming Fruits Basket stage play, which will be entirely based off of the events of the manga. It will also appear sometime in 2022. More detailed information regarding both of these new projects will arrive sometime in the future.

Additionally, a six minute video is available to watch through the official website. This video features the announcement of Kyо̄ko to Katsuya no Monogatari and a special thank you to the viewers as the current adaptation of the series comes to a close.
