On April 25, 2024, Bethesda Game Studios will release a free Fallout 4 update for the Xbox Series X, PS5, and Windows PC. You can read what the updates will have via the official website.
The Xbox Series X and PS5 updates will focus on improving stability, as well as implementing fixes. It will also include native applications and performance updates, allowing you to play it with up to 60 FPS and new resolutions. This update was supposed to come out in December 2023. However, Bethesda needed to delay it, as the developers needed more time to work on it.
The PC version of the update will also have fixes, such as to the Creation Kit and some quests. It’ll also introduce widescreen and ultra-widescreen support. Those who played in Chinese and Japanese were unable to log into Bethesda’s website, thus locking them out of some mods.
While Fallout 4 was originally only on Steam, the Microsoft Store, and GOG, it will become available for purchase on the Epic Games Store along with this update. You’ll also be able to play it on the Steam Deck. Aside from fixes, the update will introduce new Creation Club items such as Enclave skins, as well as a Makeshift Weapon pack and a Halloween Workshop.
Fallout 4 is readily available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC. The free Fallout 4 update will only be for the Xbox Series X, PS5, and Windows PC though.
