Four new episodes of the Naruto anime will appear in September 2023, and FLOW will perform the opening and ending theme songs. The new episodes will be based on the original series, and they will be released to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the release of the show. Author Masashi Kishimoto is in charge of writing the script for the new episodes. [Thanks, Comic Natalie!]
The opening theme for the new Naruto anime episodes will be a 20th anniversary version of FLOW’s classic opening song “GO!!!,” and the ending song will be a cover of Orange Range’s “Viva Rock.” Additionally, a teaser visual depicting Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi was shared through the Naruto official website.

The original Naruto anime debuted on October 2002 in Japan, and the four new episodes are celebrating the anime’s 20th anniversary. The new episodes will focus on the pre-Shippuden events of the series, and they will air weekly for four consecutive weeks starting on September 3, 2023. We don’t know if Crunchyroll will simulcast them worldwide yet, as it is the current source for Boruto and the original Naruto.
As part of the 20th anniversary celebration, two new figures of Naruto and Sasuke wearing 20th Anniversary special costumes will appear as prizes amusement facilities throughout Japan. Additionally, the Minato Namikaze one-shot manga is now available to read worldwide.
The Naruto and Boruto anime can be found on Crunchyroll, and Viz Media handles the manga localizations.
