Atlus has a social Shin Megami Tensei game for mobile phones and Devil Hunter Zero is an actual Shin Megami Tensei game too, not a spinoff like Persona or Devil Survivor.
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Hunter Zero lets players build relationships with demons and take on missions. These appear to be dungeon-like from the screenshots. Series character designer an occasional producer Kazuma Kaneko contributed demon designs for Devil Hunter Zero.
Building on the social premise, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Hunter Zero has a new demon relation rental system where you can lend your demons to other players.
Unlike Persona 3 Social, Devil Hunter Zero is a GREE game. That’s the same platform Square Enix used for Knights of the Crystal, which was eventually ported to Facebook for an international audience. Atlus has not announced any plans of that sort at this time. If you’re in Japan, have a mobile phone, and are on GREE you can play Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Hunter Zero today.
