Entertainment Weekly’s pop-culture website, PopWatch, has managed to get an exclusive first look at Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception for the PlayStation 3.
Drake’s Deception will explore Drake’s relationship with his mentor-cum-father figure, Victor Sullivan, and will see Drake searching for a legendary lost city that will take him to the Arabian Peninsula and the wasteland of the Rub’ al Khali Desert.
The game focuses on the theme of deception, which, according to Naughty Dog creative director, Amy Hennig, will “play out in multiple ways” during the course of the game, from “Drake doing the deceiving to Drake being deceived to some mysterious deception about Drake’s very identity.”
Additionally, Naughty Dog also confirmed that they are investing effort in the game’s co-op and online multiplayer modes, and hope to compete in this regard with other high-profile multiplayer games on the market.
While Sony haven’t announced an official release date for Uncharted 3 yet, PopWatch expect to see it release in late 2011. Head over to their site for more concept images and details. A world premiere for the game will take place this Saturday during the Video Game Awards.
