Kagamihara Alice is student council president, and her father is a member of the National Diet, making her the sort of person who wouldn’t spend time with average, unremarkable Hashima Reiji. However, an accidental run-in shows the two sharing a love of a certain magical girl anime, an event which sparks a relationship between the two in visual novel Momoiro Closet.
Momoiro Closet explores the unlikely connection between the two characters, as well as how they grow closer over their shared love of anime. Before long (and depending on how the player plays), players may find the heroine cosplaying in Akihabara, although they may have to deal with the social fallout from these actions (as well as soother her fears about it).
Player decisions can take the game in several different directions, creating a tender love story or something more passionate. Either way, players can also practice their Japanese as they play, as the game offers options to display English and Japanese simultaneously as they work through their romantic tale.
Momoiro Closet is set to release this month, with a demo currently available from its Steam page.
