Marvelous Entertainment and Chibi-Robo director Kenishi Nishi have a creative iPad game, an RPG-style battle game based on Twitter. Followars takes your Twitter followers and makes them fight against another group of tweeters. Characters (twitter-tars?) repeat the latest tweets in cartoon speech bubbles while dealing damage on the battlefield.

The winner earns Battle Points and a bump up on the Followars leaderboards. Players and outsiders can follow what’s going on in the Followars world by looking at the hashtag #followars.
Followars is available on the iPhone app store now in Japanese and English for the launch price of $2.99.
