Final Fantasy XVI Final Pre-Release Stream Announced

Square Enix has announced that a special pre-release stream for Final Fantasy XVI will premiere on June 17, 2023 at 7 pm Japan Standard Time, or 6 am ET/3 am PT. During the stream, people can expect to see a summary of the game’s characters, plot, and gameplay system. The stream will be available in Japanese from the Square Enix YouTube account and Niconico channel.

The Square Enix developers participating in the live stream will be Producer Naoki Yoshida, Main Director Hiroshi Takai, Creative Director and Writer Kazutoyo Maehiro, Localization Director Michael-Christopher Koji Fox, Art Director Hiroshi Minagawa, Combat Director Ryota Suzuki, Composer Masayoshi Soken, and Cinematic Manager Takeo Suzuki.

Square Enix released a Final Fantasy XVI demo on June 12, 2023 that covers the prologue of the game, and includes a special battle section as well. Additionally, the progress in the prologue section of the demo carries over to the main retail version.

As the release date for the game draws closer, Square Enix has been sharing new highlight videos focused on several main characters. The latest ones feature Garuda Dominant Benedikta Harman, and Titan Dominant Hugo Kupka.

Final Fantasy XVI will be come out for the PlayStation 5 on June 22, 2023. There is a six-month exclusivity period.
