Japanese chip brand Koikeya recently released themed Final Fantasy XIV potato chips. It has since been revealed the company’s official social media account that the Final Fantasy XIV Eorzea Popoto Chips completely sold out. However, they will need to be restocked. It has merely been a day since they were released on August 25, 2023 in Japan. A decision to resell them has been made. More information on when the chips will be available again will be revealed at a later date on social media.
The Final Fantasy XIV Eorzea Popoto (potato) Chips have packaging that features artwork of familiar characters eating the chips. The Fat Chocobo, Loporrit, Namazu, Dust Bunny, and Tataru Taru can all be seen on the bags. The chips are described as having a Crystal of Light rock-salt flavor, in reference to the crystals from the game. Furthermore, the chips are described as being made from “popoto,” a food that resembles potatoes in-game. These chips were released to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary.
Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. More information regarding the resale of the Eorzea Popoto Chips will be revealed on Koikeya’s social media in the future. They will be available in Japan at participating locations.
