Back in December 2019, the Final Fantasy VII Remake box art revealed that it was a timed exclusive. It had a label on it that read, “PlayStation Exclusive: Play First on PS4.” The small text said it would be available only on the PlayStation 4 until March 3, 2021. Now that the game has been delayed until April 2020, the exclusivity arrangement has a new end date.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake box art has been has been changed now that the release date has been altered. The PlayStation Exclusive label is mainly the same. However, it now says, “Timed Exclusive until 4/10/2021.” April 10, 2020 is the new PlayStation 4 version release window.
Square Enix hasn’t officially confirmed any other platforms for the game yet. However, the leaked demo datamine did contain data that suggested a Final Fantasy VII Remake PC version would be on the way. Given that the original game is now a multiplatform title, it is also possible that a Final Fantasy VII Remake Xbox One release could appear.
Final Fantasy VII Remake will be heading to the PlayStation 4 on April 10, 2020. On April 10, 2021, its timed exclusivity arrangement will end and it could show up on other platforms.
