The Final Fantasy VII Remake Another Story Battle Train event will now be held exclusively over smartphones. This announcement comes after the event’s cancellation amid COVID-19 concerns. The event would have been held on February 22, 2020 in Tokyo. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
The event was set to be held on the Yamanote Line in Tokyo. Fans would have to use their smartphones to participate in an interactive treasure hunt on the ride. However, the Final Fantasy VII Remake Another Story Battle event was canceled due to rising concerns about the coronavirus in Japan. Since the cancellation of the event, Square Enix has decided to share a QR code that would allow fans to participate. We’ve included the QR code below.
Upon scanning the QR code, fans will need to solve the mystery, share their results on Twitter, and follow the official Final Fantasy VII Twitter account. The lucky participants will receive a prize once the lottery has ended. This event will last until March 28, 2020.
Other events for Final Fantasy VII Remake have since been canceled. This includes the Skytree in Midgar event. The Skytree in Midgar collaboration event gave fans the opportunity to try out Final Fantasy VII themed food, check out new key art images, and grab exclusive merchandise. Similarly to the Another Story Battle Train event, the Sky Tree in Midgar collaboration event was canceled due to concerns regarding the coronavirus.
