Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Screenshots Compared to Original FFVII Moments

As part of the preparation for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Square Enix shared some screenshots comparing it to the original FFVII. Each of these essentially shows a moment from the original game alongside the remake’s situation. The four shared feature moments from outside Midgar and at Cosmo Canyon.

First, here are the two images showing Aerith, Barret, Cloud, and Tifa as they’ve just escaped from Midgar. In the case of the original FFVII, we actually see Midgar’s walls and everyone as they’re just getting up after the final chase. with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, we see the party looking at the world outside the walls.

Next, here are the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and FFVII screenshots showing a moment in Cosmo Canyon. Once the party reaches the place, they head to the Observatory and Planetarium to speak with Bugenhagen. While we don’t see the elder himself in the image, we do see the party members. In the original screenshot, only Aerith appears. In the remake, Aerith, Cloud, and Tifa are shown.

We’ll perhaps learn more about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth soon. There will be a NYCC 2023 panel with some of the voice actors. That will happen on October 14, 2023 and be streamed online.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will come to the PS5 on February 29, 2024, with the exclusivity arrangement ending on May 29, 2024. FFVII Remake is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC.
