Best Weapons in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis

Admittedly, with the way that Square Enix keeps rolling out event banners, it’s hard to say which weapons are the best. With every update, a new, more powerful weapon for each character gets added to the already burgeon list of ones you can obtain. That said, certain pieces of equipment are better than others when it comes to farming materials, and you will want to make note of what Elemental weaknesses certain Bosses have during limited-time events.

Generally, those bosses will have an elemental weakness that will match up with the on-event banner items. That said, you can just swap out whatever character that has a weapon of that specific elemental weakness without spending currency on the banner to get that edge. Or you can just use Materia to make up that difference.

Below I’ll be outlining which weapons are best for material farming and solo-play, since a lot of what you’re going to be using is circumstantial based on who you want to use and what you’re objective is.

Best Weapons for Farming Materials

Since this is what you’re going to be spending a lot of time doing, weapons that have AoE (Area of Effect) attacks are the best bet here. This includes equipping a Limit Break that does damage to all enemies on the field to make quick work of waves to get to the Boss at the end of these Optional Quests.

  • Kuja’s Spirit Blade (Sephiroth) – Does AoE Non-Elemental Damage
  • Snowstorm (Matt) – Does AoE Magic Ice Damage
  • Jiggy Farm (Glenn) – Does AoE Magic Earth Damage
  • Enhance Sword (Cloud) – Does AoE Magic Ice Damage
  • Crystal Sword (Zack) – Does AoE Magic Fire Damage
  • Wizer Staff (Aerith) – Does AoE Magic Earth Damage

Keep in mind that some characters do have more AoE potential than others. For example, Matt has a massive number of weapons that provide AoE damage. So Matt is great for any farming party composition.

Best Weapons for Solo-Content

These weapon suggestions will be concerned with which piece of equipment do the most single-target damage. So these are ideally weapons you want to use during Boss encounters. Keep in mind that you can just use the in-game “Auto” function to slap on the best equipment for your team, but these are ones you may want to invest in and level up in general.

  • Nameless (Sephiroth) – Non-Elemental Single Target Damage, Decrease MDEF.
  • Buster Sword (Cloud) – Non-Elemental Single Target Damage. (Given away for free when starting the game)
  • Kaiser Knuckles (Tifa) – Non-Elemental Single Target Damage, Decrease MDEF.
  • Arc Sword (Zack) – Non-Elemental Single Target Damage, Decrease MDEF.
  • Black Rifle (Lucia) – Non-Elemental Single Target Damage, Inflicts Silence.
  • Twin Hell (Glenn) – Non-Elemental Single Target Damage. (Given away for free when starting the game)
  • Slick Beetle (Matt) – Non-Elemental Single Target Damage, Decrease PATK.
  • Solid Bazooka (Barret) – Non-Elemental Single Target Damage, Decrease MATK.

Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis is available for Android and iOS devices and the PC via Steam on December 7, 2023.
