War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius Opens Preorders on iOS Devices

War pf the Visions

It’s been quite some time since the venerable Final Fantasy brand was applied to a turn-based tactical game, but the promised day is near: War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius officially launches in English on March 25, 2020. To that end, Square Enix has also officially opened up pre-registration (a.k.a. preordering) for Apple iOS devices. Pre-registration went live for Android via Google Play late in February 2020. Japanese players have had the game since November 2019.

War of the Visions bills itself as a spiritual successor to the legendary Final Fantasy Tactics brand. Set in the world of Lapis, War of the Visions takes place hundreds of years prior to the events of the Final Fantasy Brave Exvius mobile RPG. The continent of Ardra plays host to a number of rival nations, including Leonis, Hourne, Fennes, and Wezette. These rivalries spark into full-scale war over a certain incident.

Unlike the RPG, which is mainly played in 2D, War of the Visions battles occur on a 3D grid with full 3D-modeled units. Players will also be able to call on “Visions,” characters from across the Final Fantasy franchise (and perhaps beyond, if the RPG’s various collaboration events are any precedent) to round out their rosters.

The pre-registration campaign will also unlock various rewards based on the number of users that sign up, including a playable unit, Y’shtola Ruhl from Final Fantasy XIV.

War of the Visions: Final Fantasy Brave Exvius will go live on March 25, 2020 outside Japan. It will be available via Android and iOS devices.
