Square Enix’s recent “All the Bravest” trademark was for Final Fantasy All the Bravest, an iOS RPG starring characters from the Final Fantasy series. The game is already available on the New Zealand and Japanese iOS App Stores and is headed to North America today.
Final Fantasy All the Bravest uses the series’ Active Time Battle system and has you continuously battling enemies to progress through the game’s stages. When your ATB gauge fills up, you can tap a character to attack. Tapping multiple characters performs attacks in quick succession.
Additionally, once every three hours, a “Fever” option will appear. Once you’ve activated this, you’ll be able to attack without waiting for the ATB gauge to fill back up, as long as the Chocobo-themed music is playing. The goal during the Fever events is to deal as much damage as possible before Fever runs out.
Final Fantasy All the Bravest includes over 20 different jobs from the series. The soundtrack, too, is taken right out of Final Fantasy and comprises of over 30 songs from the series, the majority off which are the battle themes from various FF games.
Final Fantasy All the Bravest costs $3.99 in North America, but there are additional purchases to be made, too. The in-game shop will allow the player to buy 35 “famous characters” from a number of Final Fantasy games. The catch is that you won’t be able to choose who to buy—you’ll get a random character, and each one costs $0.99.
Finally, additional stages from Final Fantasy VII, X and XIII will be available for purchase, too. These cost $3.99 each.
