This screenshot from Final Fantasy Agito XIII’s battle system is a still from Square Enix’s Closed Mega Theater trailer. Not many details have been revealed about combat, but it’s going to be based on the Active Time Battle system. The four commands in the menu are fight, thunder, cure, and dodge roll. The menu appears to be malleable since the buttons are adjacent to commands. Perhaps, players will be able to tailor their character’s commands to fit their fighting style?
One big draw, at least for Japan, is Final Fantasy Agito XIII is a multiplayer game. Players can meet up locally in a McDonalds via ad-hoc play or connect with others far away through infrastructure mode. With a system like this it’s easy to imagine that only one of the three characters in the Final Fantasy Agito XIII screenshot is under your control.
