Fighting EX Layer Another Dash

Arika made a surprise announcement with a new fighting game for Nintendo Switch, Fighting EX Layer Another Dash. The developer released a trailer showing an in-development build of the game in action. Arika also confirmed that this title is different from the PlayStation 4 and PC title, Fighting EX Layer. The Nintendo Switch game will launch sometime in 2021.

Made in Unreal Engine 4, Fighting EX Layer Another Dash is a spiritual successor of sorts to the Fighting Layer and Street Fighter EX games. The new title for Nintendo Switch will feature all-new fighting mechanics. Arika will replace Gougi and dash systems with new mechanics like EX-Dash, EX-Arrow, and EX-Illusion. Additionally, Another Dash will retain Cancel Breaks and Super Cancels. The below trailer briefly shows off all of these abilities.

In addition to these changes, Arika promised new netcode for Another Dash on Switch. The end of the video states that it will use a delay-based “Backstep Interrupt” style code. This netcode will then be replaced sometime after launch with “Rollback” netcode. However, the company anticipates it will take some time to implement. Arika will make another announcement on the game on April 1, 2021.

Fighting EX Layer Another Dash will release on the Nintendo Switch in 2021. A separate title, Fighting EX Layer, is available now on PlayStation 4 and PC.
