Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXI, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi briefly discussed the PvP update schedule that will be in place after the FFXIV Dawntrail 7.0 update and ensuing 7.1 patch. The bulk of the changes seem to be happening after 7.0.

The main initial changes are that both the Pictomancer and Viper, the two new FFXIV Dawntrail jobs, will both be a part of the initial 7.0 patch. This means both will be available to use in PvP. The announcement confirmed they will have unique actions and limit breaks tied to them.

The other changes will come around the 7.1 updates. The FFXIV Dawntrail PvP won’t have a new Crystalline Conflict season right away. There will be a ranked preseason during that time instead. Only your Crystal Credit and tiers will change. The other action additions and changes and map changes won’t arrive until 7.1.

As a reminder, Crystalline Conflict is honestly relatively new to FFXIV, as the PvP mode only debuted as part of Endwalker in April 2022. The first season was a part of the 6.1 patch.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion debuts on July 2, 2024.
