FFXIV Dawntrail Astrologian, Scholar, Sage, White Mage, Changes

Toward the end of the Final Fantasy XIV Letter from the Producer Live LXXXI, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio “Foxclon” Murouchi went over the Healer job classes changes for the Astrologian, Sage, Scholar, and White Mage in FFXIV Dawntrail. There’s only one change that applies to all jobs in this category, but specific roles may see multiple adjustments.

When it comes to those of us with a character with a job as a Healer, there will only be one change in FFXIV Dawntrail. This applies to Swiftcast. The recast will only be 40 seconds once someone gets past level 90.

Specific slides for the FFXIV Dawntrail  job changes came up after that. The Sage, Scholar, and White Mage are getting new AOE attacks. (In the case of the Sage, it is Dyskrasia II being enhanced into Eukrasia Dyskrasia.) The White Mage will also get a new action that lets it move forward faster. The Scholar will gain a Seraphism action that increases healing capabilities and the way it looks. When it comes to the Astrologian, it will play differently due to a card system change. It won’t be random, and there will be eight total different types of cards, with players drawing four cards and picking which one to use in each situation. Astrosigns are being removed as a result of the card system change. Finally, the Sage will get a new healing party buff.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, and the Dawntrail expansion debuts on July 2, 2024.
