Once again, Square Enix took to the official Final Fantasy VII Remake Japanese Twitter account to share insight into the game’s world and design. This time, it compares a specific shop. The company looked at the FFVII Remake Wall Market materia shop and its FFVII counterpart. It also referenced the materia shop owners’ request.
First, there are direct comparisons between the original Wall Market materia shop in FFVII and FFVII Remake. In each case, a number of pots appear around the area. Rather than being behind a counter, the shop owner is reclining on the ground. It is also lit by both candles and lights in each game.
Here’s how it looked in the remake.
And this is how it looked in the original game.
Square Enix also referenced the quests tied to the Wall Market materia shop in both FFVII and FFVII Remake. In both games, the owner asks the player to use the Wall Market Inn’s vending machine. In the original, you end up getting a tiara for the Don Corneo mission. In the remake, you’ll get an item from the inn for the show owner as part of Chocobo Sam’s The Party Never Stops questline.
The last time Square Enix talked about FFVII Remake, it involved Mako. Specifically, it showed how Mako and Mako accessories provide energy for folks.
Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the PS4, while FFVII Remake Intergrade is out on the PS5 and PC.
