The FFVI opera scene will look and sound a bit different in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster version. Square Enix revealed that the opera will be sung in seven languages. It also showed screenshots of the scene that involved 3D backgrounds. This means for this segment, it is taking something of a HD-2D approach.
Here’s the official announcement. Of the seven languages, only five are named. Square Enix pointed out people will hear the song in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. In Famitsu’s report on it, it also confirmed Japanese and Korean will be available.

This mimics the HD-2D style found in games like Octopath Traveler or the upcoming Live A Live remake.
This opera news comes after another FFVI Pixel Remaster announcement. Sabin can still properly perform a suplex the Phantom Train boss. In an early promotional gif, the train didn’t flip when attacked.
Final Fantasy VI Pixel Remaster will come to the PC and mobile devices on February 23, 2022.
