Fate/Grand Order Rings in 2021 With a Trip to a Hellish Hot Spring

Fate Grand Order

Fate/Grand Order is ready to kick off 2021, and it’s doing so with a relaxing trip to a hot spring inn via its New Year’s event, “Sparrow’s Inn Daily Report: Records of the Enma-tei’s Prosperity.” It will kicks off on January 1, 2021 and send the Masters of Chaldea to yet another small, but ultimately harmless, Singularity appearing at a mountain hot spring resort. Accompanied by a handful of Servants seeking a relaxing mineral soak, they Rayshift to the scene, only to find a deep forest teeming with malevolent primates.

During the event, players will assist a new Fate/Grand Order Servant, the 5-Star Saber Beni-Enma, in managing the Enma-tei, a supernatural resort with a rowdy clientele. Beni-Enma will also be the limited New Year’s Servant for 2021. Sporting a character design by Takehito Harada, whose art was popularized in the Disgaea series, Phantom Brave, and Makai Kingdom, Beni-Enma is a supportive Arts-element Saber with a powerful set of skills based on lowering enemy defenses and sealing their Noble Phantasms, as well as boosting party performance.

Beni-Enma is also joined by fan-favorite Tamamo-no-Mae (Caster) on the banners. A heroine of Fate/Extra and a fox temptress of Japanese myth, Tamamo-no-Mae is Fate/Grand Order‘s premier Arts-element support unit, able to juice the attacks of any Arts characters she deploys with. Her Noble Phantasm also heals the party, refills their NP gauges, and even shortens the cooldown on their skills.

As with most other Fate/Grand Order events, players will complete quests to gather materials needed to renovate the Enma-tei complex. They’ll also gather special Tribute Points daily to unlock new story missions, and earn various rewards as they clear point thresholds. One point of note: Story progress is dependent on the amount of Tribute Points earned, and they can only be earned during a certain window of time each day. Thus, players should avoid starting the event late and rushing to completion in the closing days. Masters with deep Fate/Grand Order benches will also benefit, as certain Servants will gain bonuses to Enma-tei material drops. In addition to Beni-Enma and Li Shuwen (Assassin), older Servants like Tamamo-no-Mae, Diarmuid Ua Duibhne (Saber), Archer of Inferno, Fionn mac Cumhaill, Tamamo Cat, Kiyohime (Berserker), and Mash all merit drop bonuses.

The Fate/Grand Order New Year’s event starts on January 1, 2021 and ends on January 15, 2021. The game is immediately available on iOS and Android. FGO is also debuting a new anime special on New Year’s eve.
