Fantasy Life Content Update Adds Multiplayer, Chat, And A New Island

Recommended Videos

As previously reported, Level 5’s 3DS RPG, Fantasy Life, is seeing a large content update this Summer. Famitsu.com has new details to share regarding just what this update will add.

For starters, the update will allow for up to four players to play together over the Internet. In order to play with other people, you’ll need to add them to your 3DS Friends List. You’ll also be able to exchange chat messages with your friends within the game by typing them out on the 3DS bottom screen.

This feature is called “Link Mode” and will allow you to send messages to individual friends as well as to everyone you’re playing with.

Another new feature is a brand new island that you can explore. This island seems to be home to a different kind of civilization than you see in other regions of the game. You’ll find new monsters to do battle with here.

The content update will be available two ways—as a new, updated packaged game called Fantasy Life: Link! or as a download for the existing game through the Nintendo eShop. The packaged game will cost 4,980 yen ($50), while the downloadable version of the update will cost 2,000 yen ($20).

The update is slated for release on July 25th in Japan.
