Explore Entire Worlds Inside Old Cassette Tapes In This Game

Owen Deery has released a new trailer and the first small batch of information for his nostalgic exploration game Small Radios Big Televisions .

If you grew up or lived through the 1980s and 1990s, you’ll be very familiar with cassette and video tapes common to the era. It’s these that act as portals to new dimensions in Small Radios Big Televisions. It’s almost like when you clean your house out and find an old tape that brings back memories from your past.

You start off exploring a secluded industrial area that is filled with these data tapes. Upon finding them, you play them in your retro-style cassette player, which opens up doors to places unknown. As you can see in the trailer below, these mysterious locations include low-poly coastlines and roads that run through forests.

Little more is known about Small Radios Big Televisions right now except that it will be released “eventually”. You can keep track of the game’s progress on its website.
