With the upcoming release of Sonic Superstars and the Sonic Frontiers DLC, Sega has had its hands full with providing fans with Sonic the Hedgehog content this year. Despite that, the blue blur has been no stranger to numerous collaborations in 2023.
Here’s a list of every Sonic the Hedgehog crossover in 2023 so far:

Samba de Amigo: Party Central Sonic Cameo
Sonic Adventure 2’s “Escape from the City” and Sonic Forces’ “Fist Bump” were two songs playable in Samba de Amigo: Party Central when it launched in August. Sonic himself also made a cameo in one of the stages. Both the iconic tracks and their stages were included in the base game.

Sonic the Hedgehog Lego Sets
In August, four Lego sets featuring Sonic the Hedgehog and his friends were released in collaboration with Sega. The four sets were Amy’s Animal Rescue Island, Sonic’s Green Hill Zone Loop Challenge, Sonic’s Speed Sphere, Tails’s Workshop, and Tornado Plane. The sets came with mini figures of Sonic, Tails, and Amy Rose.

Sonic Superstars Lego DLC
Sega also announced that Lego Sonic characters would make an appearance in the upcoming game Sonic Superstars as DLC. A Lego Eggman skin was even made into a pre-order bonus. Sonic Superstars will be released on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC on October 17, 2023.

Hololive VTuber Korone Inugami
Due to Hololive VTuber Korone Inugami’s love for Sonic, Sega named her an official ambassador in 2022. She even received a new outfit based on Sonic’s image. This partnership continued into 2023. New merchandise was added to the SoniKoro 2023 lineup featuring new art of Korone cuddling the blue hedgehog. Prints, wall scrolls, totes, and standees were all made available in February.

Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis Sonic Event
In May of 2023, Sega announced that a crossover between Phantasy Star Online 2: New Genesis and Sonic the Hedgehog would take place. The event began in June and brought with it a collection of Sonic-themed items for players to obtain. The event was held to celebrate his birthday (June 23). Statues of Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, Knuckles, and Dr. Robotnik were stationed at the in-game hub for a limited time. There was also a Sonic-themed limited quest to complete.

Hypland Sonic the Hedgehog apparel
A collection of Sonic the Hedgehog apparel by the brand Hypland was released in June. Snapbacks, graphic t-shirts, hoodies, and more items became available for purchase. A pop-up store also opened in Los Angeles, California, where people could purchase the new Sonic the Hedgehog merchandise early.
That was all of the official Sonic the Hedgehog crossovers so far in 2023 that we could find. Only time will tell if Sega has any more collaborations in store for Sonic this Fall and Winter 2023.
