Evangelion 3.0+1.11 Blu Ray

Studio Khara announced that the new Evangelion 3.0+1.11 Blu-Ray and DVD set will release on March 8, 2023 in Japan. The consumer release of the 2021 movie will include the newly-edited Evangelion 3.0+1.11 Thrice Upon a Time, as well as never-before-seen bonus footage. The set will also include various other bonus items depending on the Japanese retailer. There is no confirmation of an international release.

If the titles are a bit confusing, here’s a refresher. The original theatrical release of the movie is titled Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time. However, Studio Khara later released a partially-edited version under the title Evangelion: 3.0+1.01, which also later appeared on streaming services and international theaters. The upcoming Evangelion: 3.0+1.11 version features further additional edits to the movie.

Furthermore, the included bonus footage is titled Evangelion: 3.0 (-46H), and is completely new. It’s still unclear whether the new footage was originally intended to be part of the theatrical release, but was cut from the film. However, a recent Tweet from Studio Khara does indicate that the studio is currently working on the production of the bonus footage, which may rule out the possibility of it being cut content.

The set will come in three different versions: a Blu-Ray and 4K UHD Blu-Ray set, a standard Blu-Ray set, and a DVD set. The 4K UHD set will cost 10,780 yen (about $74), and both the standard Blu-Ray and DVD sets will cost 8,580 yen (about $60).
