The Elos Evangelion Sports skateboards will be available outside Japan. Pre-orders are now open for the three designs, which are inspired by Shinji’s Eva Unit-01, Asuka’s Eva Unit-02, and Rei Ayanami. When orders opened in Japan for the boards, which ship in the middle of April 2021, they cost 25,975円 (~$237).
Each of the Elos Evangelion skateboards is made of a Canadian Hardrock Maple deck and has a design inspired by Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time. The Unit-01 and Unit-01 designs have a flat color on the surface, with details referencing their respective Evas on the underside. The Rei board has a design inspired by her plugsuit on the top, with an Eva etching on the underside. As pointed out on the Japanese site and in early materials, people get the board, a bag to carry it, a manual, and an Eva Edition of its skate tool.
Here’s a better look at the skateboard designs. There’s also a picture showing what comes with the Asuka Eva Unit-02 one.
Lots of Evangelion merchandise appeared in the past few months to tie in with the new movie. For example, people could get Anna Sui jewelry, a Unit-01 Godzilla, or even a life-size Rei.
Elos Evangelion Sports Campaign site will be taking orders for the skateboards until April 30, 2021. The US site doesn’t offer prices yet, but does suggest people who sign up for a newsletter will get 10% off its price.
