New gameplay details for Elden Ring include the implementation of the Grace mechanic. Grace will appear on the map and guide players to various locations. Players can choose to not follow these trails. The gameplay preview also showcased a brief encounter with a dragon. The player is shown using spells and can attack enemies on horseback. When downing an enemy, players can perform a strong melee attack. A new feature is the ability to perform overhead attacks, which will deal significantly more damage to enemies. Players will be able to freely switch between weapons. Additionally, you will be able to craft items by collecting resources found throughout The Lands Between.

Elden Ring will also have a map. Players can reveal more of the map by collecting map fragments. Markers can also be placed on the map to mark crafting materials or the locations of dangerous enemies. Beacons can also be placed on the map, and can be viewed from where the player is located in the world. Players can also unmount at any time, as their mount of choice will simply disappear and can be summoned again later.

Another travel mechanic was detailed. Spirit Springs can help players reach high destinations when stepping on them. Weather mechanics will also appear in Elden Ring. While traversing the field, the player was shown dodging bolts of lightning. Online multiplayer will return in Elden Ring. A catacomb was shown during the broadcast. This is one of several dungeons that will appear in Elden Ring. Each dungeon will hold unique treasures and bosses. A large fortress known as Stormvale Castle was also revealed during the gameplay preview. This is one of the more complex dungeons that will appear in Elden Ring. Several different routes through the fortress will be available for the player to explore. Several NPCs also appeared in Stormvale Castle. Unique enemies like knights and massive hawks were also revealed.

A boss fight against Godrick the Golden, a demi-god in the world of Elden Ring was shown during the end of the broadcast. This included a short cutscene introducing the boss fight. Godrick wields a golden great-axe and has several arms attached to his shoulders. He was revealed in an earlier gameplay trailer.
