EGX Rezzed Postponed to Summer Amid Coronavirus Concerns

EGX Rezzed Postponed

EGX Rezzed has been postponed to Summer 2020, with concerns regarding COVID-19 coronavirus again being the culprit. This event serves as London’s premier showcase for independently developed games. An official statement was made via the EGX Rezzed website.

EGX had this to say in their official statement:

Having monitored the situation around COVID-19 constantly over these last few weeks and following many hours of conversation internally and with our partners, we have taken the incredibly difficult decision to move EGX: Rezzed to Summer 2020 with date and announcement forthcoming. We did everything that we could to try to run the event as planned, but ultimately, maintaining social distancing is neither feasible at, nor in the spirit of, the interactive and community nature of Rezzed. It is the community that makes Rezzed so special and it is our duty to make sure that your safety comes first.

EGX mentions that tickets purchased for the event will remain valid for the new dates once it has been scheduled. However, if attendees are unable to make the rescheduled event they can contact the customer service team for more information.

This comes after the cancellation of E3 2020. Several other events have either been cancelled or have been postponed due to the outbreaks. These include GDC 2020 and Bitsummit.

EGX Rezzed was scheduled for March 26, 2020 to March 28, 2020.
