Earth Defense Force: World Brothers Trailer Highlights Abilities and Special Attacks

D3 Publisher shared a new gameplay trailer for Earth Defense Force: World Brothers, highlighting various abilities and special attacks.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers is a spinoff EDF game in a 3D voxel world. Everything is made of square pieces. Even the Earth is square, not round. However, it still plays like an EDF game when it comes to gameplay, but it comes with some over-the-top moves. The video demonstrates various abilities and specials, starting with the “Emergency Maneuver” rolling ability from the first Earth Defense Force‘s Infantry unit.

By filling up the SP meter, you can activate special attacks. You can find the SP meter on the bottom-right of the screen, the icon with a percentage. When it goes to 100%, it glows and allows you to activate a special attack by pressing R3. Special attacks come with cut-ins for each character. The first one shown in the trailer is a grenade bomb attack from the EDF Infantry unit that deals tens of thousands of damage to the giant ants.

The trailer demonstrates more abilities and specials, including moves from EDF2 and EDF3P‘s Pale Wing, EDF 2025‘s Air Raider, and EDF4‘s Ranger and Fencer.

Earth Defense Force: World Brothers will deploy in Japan for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on December 24, 2020.  The game will release in the West in 2021.
