The arrival of one Tetris mobile game has spelled the end for another. Now that N3TWORK and The Tetris Company’s free-to-play Tetris game has arrived on Android and Apple iOS devices. Since this means the license has been transferred, all three of EA’s Tetris games have an expiration date of April 21, 2020. This includes Tetris Premium, which people actually had to buy.
The three Tetris games on the way out are Tetris 2011, Tetris Blitz, and Tetris Premium. The first two were free-to-play, while the last one cost actual money. (It was $1.99 for the standard version and $2.99 for the iPad version.) Each one now has the same message appear both on the product page and in a note when you first open the app.
Here’s the EA Tetris games’ closure notice:
Hello Fans,
We have had an amazing journey with you so far but sadly, it is time to say goodbye. As of April 21, 2020, EA’s Tetris® app will be retired, and will no longer be available to play.
Kindly note that you will still be able to enjoy the game and use any existing in-game items until April 21, 2020. We hope you have gotten many hours of enjoyment out of this game and we appreciate your ongoing support.
Thank you!
Both Tetris 2011 and Tetris Premium are identical sorts of games with Marathon and Galaxy modes. Tetris Blitz is a single or multiplayer game with tournaments where people have two minutes to get through matches.
Tetris 2011, Tetris Blitz, and Tetris Premium are available for Apple iOS devices. The latest Tetris game from N3TWORK is available on Android and Apple iOS devices.
