Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires Activities Will Depend on Ranks

Dynasty Warriors 9 Empires - Wang Ping custom character by Koei Tecmo

Koei Tecmo and Omega Force published a FAQ page on the Japanese Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires official website. This page contains a compilation of questions and answers gathered on the Japanese Twitter account in early November 2021. One of the features explained on the page is the Rank system that also determines activities available in the game.

When a character joins a faction in the Empires games, they will generally start as a regular officer. As they provide contributions to the faction through domestic developments and battle merits, they can eventually increase their ranks.

All characters will be able to freely roam around China in the Strolling mode regardless of ranks. However, the rank will determine the variety of activities a character can perform inside a faction. Those with a rank of General or higher will be able to offer a suggestion in councils. Marshals and Strategists will also gain the right to stage invasions on their own. Meanwhile, the faction’s Ruler will be the only one who can form alliances.

The FAQ session had previously revealed gameplay details like the Title system. It also confirmed that Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will have special stages based on historical battles, such as the Yellow Turban Rebellion and the Battle of Guandu.

Koei Tecmo also stated that the character creator system will have 60 voices—30 each for male and female characters. But unlike prior Empires games, the Dynasty Warriors 9 edition will not have a voice pitch option. Players will instead choose from the Youth, Adult, and Mature voice tones for each quote type. The character’s Special and Musou attacks will also depend on the assigned favorite weapon.

Dynasty Warriors 9: Empires will be available in Japan and Asia on December 23, 2021, and North America and Europe on February 15, 2022. The game will appear on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
