Dragon’s Dogma is a big-budget new I.P. for Capcom, and they have high hopes for the game. Last we heard, they hoped to sell 1.5 million copies of the game worldwide. That’s a high number for a new property, so they’re sweetening the deal by including a little bonus.
Every retail copy of Dragon’s Dogma on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will come with a downloadable code for an early demo of Resident Evil 6. Xbox Live subscribers will be able to redeem their demo on July 3rd, two months earlier than anyone else.
Meanwhile, PlayStation Network users will be able to redeem the demo on September 4th in North America and September 5th in Europe. Capcom haven’t announced if or when the Resident Evil 6 demo will get a regular release.
Different stores are offering pre-order bonuses for Dragon’s Dogma, too. GameStop are offering the “Pawn Upgrade Pack,” which gives you additional Rift Crystals and lets you rent higher level pawns from the start. Pawns are AI partners that fight alongside you, and learn from your actions.
Best Buy will offer the “Armor Upgrade Pack” (higher level armour), while Amazon gets the “Weapon Upgrade Pack” (higher level weapons). Both of these give you an advantage while tackling tougher enemies.
Dragon’s Dogma is slated for release on May 22nd in North America and May 25th in Europe. A PC version is also being considered.
