Square Enix announced that the MMORPG title Dragon Quest X will kick off its browser version‘s open beta test on February 5, 2020.
The purpose of the open beta test is to help with its final adjustments ahead of launch. They hope to get new players as well as veterans to try out Dragon Quest X for browsers on smartphones, tablets, and PC.
The open beta has adjustments made from the feedback gathered from the closed beta test. This includes improvements in touch movements, camera controls, UI improvements, and various bug fixes.
The only requirement is that it needs to be on a browser with HTML5 support. These include Google Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox.
Dragon Quest X‘s browser version runs on cloud streaming by Ubitus. Those who currently play Dragon Quest X can carry over save data to switch back and switch between devices at any time.
The open beta test starts on February 5, 2020 at around 12:00pm JST. It’ll be available until February 25, 2020 at 11:59am JST. In addition to a smartphone, tablet, or PC with HTML5-supported browser, you’ll need a Square Enix account.
Starting 12:00pm JST on February 5, you’ll see a green button with the option to play the browser version. It’ll be available over at the official website.
Those with valid Dragon Quest X codes on Wii, Wii U, Windows, PS4, Switch, and 3DS will get to play the same amount of content. This includes same Character Courses, Option Plans, and such. The rest can play the same amount of content found in the demo while starting on the browser version.
Dragon Quest X is available in Japan for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Wii U, PC, iOS, and Android.
