Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past was mentioned briefly during today’s Nintendo Direct. This remake of the PlayStation game features new graphics and an entirely new translation. This is in addition to visible enemy encounters with new characteristics.

In Dragon Quest VII, the hero’s father comes home with a map after fishing. It shows multiple continents, but all that exists now is their home island of Estard. The hero goes back into the past and to find out what happened.

Originally, Nintendo had said Dragon Quest VII would come to the Nintendo 3DS in summer 2016. The Nintendo Direct updated that release window to later in 2016.
