Last time, Inti Creates went in-depth on the history behind the world of Dragon: Marked for Death, and this time, they revealed the backstories for each playable character.
Empress
“Empress”, as she’s known, was once the daughter of the village chief of the Dragonblood Clan. Her Dragon Scar is on her arm. When she went on an errand for her father to the neighboring village, the holy knights of the Medeus Empire attacked and killed everyone, including her fiancé. Amica, the current Dragonblood Oracle, has been her close friend since childhood.
Warrior
A young man who grew up at the Dragonblood Clan’s orphanage. His Dragon Scar is located on his chest. He acted as the older brother for the other kids at the orphanage, and led a self-sufficient life alongside the others. While he was out fishing at a nearby river, the village was attacked, and his younger “siblings” were killed alongside everyone else.
Shinobi
A shinobi from the Dragonblood Clan. His Scar was located on his legs. He’s been training his skills and ninjutsu alongside his friend since he was young, but after his friend became a nukenin (ie. a shinobi who ran away), he was tasked with chasing after and bringing him back. Just as he successfully did so, the village was attacked and his friend lost his life.
Witch
A young girl from the Dragonblood Clan, who is the adopted daughter of “The Last Remaining Witch” living in a hidden village. Her Scar is found on her head. After the destruction of the Magic Kingdom, magic is now only usable by certain royal members. After her adoptive mother lost her life, the young girl went back to her original home, only to have it destroyed by the holy knights.
Apart from introductions to the world and characters, Inti Creates also recently revealed that the project originally started off as a PSP game, which you can find more about here.
Dragon: Marked for Death releases for the Nintendo Switch on January 31, 2019.
