Dragon Ball Z Kakarot Trailer Hypes It Up Like an Anime Episode

A new Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot trailer has dropped ahead of the game’s launch in under two weeks, and this one takes a more unconventional approach to hyping it up. It talks about it as though it were an episode of a Dragon Ball Z anime series. Which is appropriate, given the open nature of the game and how much attention it will spend focusing on Goku’s life. As pointed out by Redo, the Dragon Ball Z narrator Kyle Hebert acts as the narrator for this video.

This Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot trailer is essentially a who’s who for the series. Many important characters appear. We see people like Android 16, Android 17, Cell, Gohan, Piccolo, Trunks, and Vegeta. (Those last four are all playable characters.) Bulma, Goten, Master Roshi show up in some scenes, and confirmed supporters Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha also appear.

The end of the video also offers a reminder of what people get with each edition. Perhaps most notable is the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Ultimate Edition insight. It gives people the Ultimate Cooking Item, with its permanent HP, Ki-Attack, and Ki-Defense boost. It also shows Goku riding on the Tao Pai Pai Pillar, another travel option in case you don’t like using the Nimbus to fly around. This is a reference to Tao Pai Pai, from the Red Ribbon Army, who broke and decided to ride on a pillar to get to Goku at The Karin Sanctuary. It also reminds people about the 11 anime songs it includes.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will come to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Japan on January 16, 2020. The North American and European PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC release will follow one day later on January 17, 2020. Previous trailers showed off Gotenks and Majin Buu, as well as the game’s opening.
