The Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie has received an official release window for North America. The movie will release in Japan on April 22, 2022. A North American release will follow in Summer 2022. Additionally, Toei Animation revealed new footage from the movie, as well as a new key visual featuring an older Goten and Trunks.
The information debuted as part of the Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2022 live stream. Executive producer Akio Iyoku, movie producer Norihiro Hayashida, and director Tetsuro Kodama all made an appearance during the movie’s panel.
Notably, one of the first reveals was a new “extended” movie poster. Adding on to the previously-revealed cast of characters, the new visual revealed that a grown-up Goten and Trunks would appear in the film. Interestingly, Goten and Trunks are posing in their Fusion stance. Other characters such as Android 18, Krillin, and Bulma also appear in the new visual. Furthermore, executive producer Iyoku revealed that the movie is set sometime after the events of Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
You can get a better look at the key visual below.
The panel also featured a short scene of one of the film’s new characters, Dr. Hedo. Dr. Hedo is a scientist working for the Red Ribbon Army, one of the central antagonist forces in the upcoming film. After leaving what looks to be a prison complex, Hedo takes out a grenade from his suitcase and throws it into the entrance, which later explodes as a police truck drives by. The footage featured no sound.
