We’ve seen plenty of Dragon Ball fighters over the years, but Dragon BallZ developed by Arc System Works is definitely one of the most exciting entries we’ve seen in a while. French gaming site GameBlog got to chat with producer Tomoko Hiroki at E3 2017 about a possible Nintendo Switch version of the fighter.

Here’s a snippet from the interview:

Gameblog: It’s been a few days since the announcement, and I’ve already heard from many players that they want a Switch version of Dragon Ball FighterZ. Speaking to folks from Bandai Namco and the developers, I heard that it would be difficult to port it on Switch due to power limitations in terms of power and that you guys had to make some cuts for Xenoverse 2 on Switch due to complicated porting. Is it true that the Switch cannot run Dragon Ball FighterZ?

Tomoko Hiroki, producer: I don’t know who told you that, but it’s truly not a question of power. We did not run into any true difficulties for the Switch version of Xenoverse 2. I’d say that if we get enough demand from fans, we could make a Switch version [of Dragon Ball FighterZ] as well. Although, it may not release at the same time as the other versions, we might consider it.

Dragon Ball FighterZ releases on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in early 2018. Its closed beta is scheduled for Summer 2017 on PS4 and Xbox One. You can check out its latest gameplay videos from E3 2017 in our previous report.
