Double Dragon IV got online functionality on July 30, 2020, four years after the game was first released on the PlayStation 4 and PC. Online multiplayer was patched into the game via a free update for the PS4, Switch, and PC versions. The Xbox One version already had that option.
The game’s Story Mode now offers players the opportunity to take part in online co-op with friends or random players around the world. Team up with two of the game’s various characters to save your kidnapped girlfriend!
Meanwhile, you can take on Tower Mode with another player online. Tower Mode is extremely challenging and tasks people with completing floors. By clearing stages, you can obtain more characters to play as. By bringing along a second player, you might be able to clear floors you were unable to previously beat.
Finally, the game’s Versus mode will let you take part online matches against friends or random players with 25 different characters.
Double Dragon IV is available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The game was released for the series’ 30th anniversary, which is why it looks like the NES entries in the series. You can check out a trailer in our previous article.
