We’ve reported on several of Nintendo’s Wii game releases on the Nvidia Shield TV in China in the past, including Super Mario Galaxy and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, and yesterday yet another game got released on the system – Donkey Kong Country Returns. [Thanks, Chinese Nintendo!]
Like the other Wii games on the Shield TV, the game has seen some upgrades, with an increase to 1080p resolution and 60 FPS (compared to the most recent release on 3DS, which ran at 30 FPS). As of now, it seems the standard texture upscaling has been done, without use of the deep learning technology used to upgrade Twilight Princess.
Apart from the HD textures, the game also uses standard button controls instead of motion controls, similar to the 3DS version.
