Distrust gives player fifteen different survivors to choose from, each with their own suite of abilities and uses, controlling several of them in a randomly-generated arctic base. With those characters, players will need to find precious supplies while trying to find a way back to safety.

Sleep is an important factor in Distrust. Too much time without sleep will cause the various characters the player controls to start losing their sanity, causing distortions in reality that players will only be able to recognize by switching between characters, guessing at who is perceiving reality properly. If they try to sleep to stave these effects off, though, it will draw attention from murderous aliens, making survival unlikely. Also, eventually, exhaustion will force these characters to sleep, so there is no avoiding danger forever.

Distrust’s developers are offering free Steam keys to the first one hundred subscribers to the top-down survival game’s newsletter, so players who wish to experience a mass of people all losing their minds at once may benefit from signing up now on the game’s site. A demo is also available on Steam.
