Dissidia Final Fantasy director Takeo Kujiraoka and producer Ichiro Hazama have posted individual messages through the official Dissidia Final Fantasy website a day before the arcade game goes offline. Both the director and producer share their experiences working on the game and thank the dedicated fans of the Dissidia Final Fantasy series. [Thanks, Famitsu!]
Kujiraoka goes into detail in his message, reminiscing on the development of the arcade title. In his message he talks about his experience developing the game and the feeling of seeing players at the arcades. He also encourages players to spend one last day with the game before it shuts down. Lastly, he thanks those who had the opportunity to play the arcade version of Dissidia Final Fantasy and for the five years that the game remained active.
Despite the Dissidia Final Fantasy arcade servers going offline, Dissidia Final Fantasy: NT is still available to play online. While development has stopped for the title, Square Enix will keep the servers for the PlayStation 4 and PC version of the game open.
Dissidia Final Fantasy released to Japanese arcades in November 2015. In December 2020, Square Enix announced that the servers for the arcade versions would be going offline on April 1, 2021. Dissidia Final Fantasy: NT is immediately available for PlayStation 4 and PC.
